Portable Material ID & Analysis
When versatility, low limits of detection (LODs) and high sample throughput are critical, industrial businesses rely on the Thermo Scientific Niton handheld XRF & LIBS analyzer. Providing customers with solutions designed to meet their most demanding applications, maximizing performance and productivity.
Supported Industries:
Positive Material Identification (PMI) | Scrap Metal Recycling | Environmental | Precious Metals | Mining & Exploration | Consumer Goods | Plastics | Pharmaceutical
Niton XL5 Plus
The world’s smallest handheld XRF analyzer
As the world’s smallest analyser – weighing only 2.8 pounds (1.27 kg.), the Niton XL5 Plus analyser makes light work of heavy industrial tasks, even under the most challenging conditions. This reduces operator fatigue and increases productivity.
Niton Apollo LIBS
Carbon Equivalence & Elemental Analysis
LIBS is an acronym for Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy. It is an analytical technique used to determine the elemental composition of materials.
Handheld LIBS analysers work by using a high-focused laser to ablate the surface of a sample. A plasma is formed consisting of electronically excited atoms and ions. As these atoms decay back into their ground states, they emit characteristic wavelengths of light, or “unique fingerprints”.
These “fingerprints” are distinct for each element, making handheld LIBS analysis an excellent tool for quantitative and qualitative measurements.
